Organic Marfax Beans

from $12.00

Back in stock - 2024 crop!

Certified organic heirloom Marfax beans grown on our farm in San Gregorio, CA. Marfax beans were bred in the Northeastern U.S. and were introduced by the federal government to Downeast Mainers as a staple food during the Great Depression. A traditional way of cooking these beans in Maine logging camps was the ‘Bean Hole’: a rock-lined fire pit in the ground where the bean pot was buried and slow-cooked.

Shipping: Please note that we are a tiny (but mighty!) team juggling all of the goings-on at a busy production farm. We ship weekly on Fridays. Orders placed after 9am PST on Fridays will be shipped the following week. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot us an email. Thank you for your support!
